Tuesday Outing

Tuesday we decided to go to the Bargello Museum, which is several blocks beyond the Duomo from us. Many of the major museums here are closed on Mondays. I should have checked, because, surprise!, the Bargello is closed on Tuesdays. We took the long way back.

Beautiful building along the way

Another view of the Neptune fountain in Piazza della Signoria

We stepped inside the Palazzo Vecchio, but decided not to take the tour. The Palazzo is the old town hall of Florence, built to house government offices. For a while it was a Medici residence as well.

In the evening we wanted to try a restaurant we enjoyed in 2015, about three blocks away. Dan had walked by earlier in the day and saw that it was open. But, surprise!, it was closed at dinner time. We made a detour and went back to our first restaurant, San Lorenzo.

Dan had the risotto

I had spinach and ricotta stuffed crespelle, Italian crepes, in tomato and cheese sauce.

Sneak preview:  we did get to tour the Bargello on Wednesday.
