My family in the States thinks that we are quite the social animals when we are at Woodstock. In contrast to Goshen, where we tend to live a more hermit-like existence, it's certainly true.
Saturday evening we were invited to a 50th birthday party of a staff member, held at the Highlands at Rokeby, a lovely party spot at the top of the hill. I haven't walked that far yet, so we went on the motor scooter. And I needed to get home fairly quickly in good time for a conference call (morning in the US, evening here).
Mary Ellen, the birthday nominee, and her family came to Woodstock in 2010 after meeting a former teacher by chance at a Seattle event. The former teacher is a friend of ours, and when we visited her soon after the chance meeting, Mary Ellen came to meet us. So we feel a little bit responsible for this wonderful family coming to Woodstock, where they all contribute so much.
