We knew when we planned this trip that we wanted to see a bit more of Italy than just Florence. It is easy to take a train or bus to nearby cities, including Rome. But in the end we decided to stay away from public transportation. We have rented a car and are taking a three-day trip south of here, heading for Montepulciano. I probably won't be posting again until we return on Thursday evening. No photos from yesterday. It was rainy and we didn't get out much (although I ended up climbing our 36 stairs three times!).
We visited the Vodaphone store to renew our phone lines for February and ate supper at Trattoria la Guido, just over a block away. Dan had lasagna and I had ribollita, a vegetable soup thickened with bread. All delicious. This picture shows the small restaurant, looking toward the back where you can see the cook at work. The wall decor included a copy of the Mona Lisa.
