Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens

After lunch we drove a short distance to visit the Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens. It is very large, covering a hilly area. There was a loop road that we could follow from one section to the next.

First area was Banana Avenue

This structure was neart the entrance to the Canopy Walk

We ventured out onto the Canopy Walk, a long metal bridge structure that went over a valley area. This view is looking down onto the treetops.

More views from the Canopy Walk

Our next stop was the Glass House Complex, which included a tall tropical jungle building and many more greenhouses, each with a theme. The next two photos were taken in the tropical jungle.

Next was a building for the cacti -- so many varieties! This one is called a Monkey Tail.

Here I am in front of a heart-shaped cactus, with the tropical jungle in the background.

One of the greenhouses focused on orchids and ferns.

Standing near the entrance were these Spanish moss deer -- they look more like alpacas to me, but they do have antlers!
