Here We Go Again!

Hello from Krakow, Poland. We left Goshen on Tuesday, September 9, on our way back to India. We are spending a week here in Krakow visiting friends. Our trip was on a 747, the first we'd been in for a long time. It does feel a bit like being in a cattle car -- so many people, and the seats are even closer together than they used to be. There is barely enough room for knees; if you are tall they will be crunched against the seat in front of you. We both slept just a few hours, and we landed in Frankfurt at 7:30 a.m.

The Frankfurt Airport looks modernized compared to the last time I was there in 2007. However, the distance between our arrival gate and the departure gate was extremely long, including multiple elevators, moving walkways, and escalators. Fortunately, we had more than four hours until our Krakow flight, so we eventually got to the gate and spent some time at a coffee shop.

It was wonderful to have our friend Peter there to greet us as we came out of the airport with our luggage. He drove us to their apartment in a nice modern complex close to the south bank of the Vistula River. After Karen got home from school we took a short walk along the river. We are looking forward to getting out and seeing more of this old city in the next few days. I plan to have some pictures to share tomorrow!
